Build-a-Leprechaun Free Printable Kids Activity for Saint Patrick’s Day

Build-a-Leprechaun Free Printable Kids Activity for Saint Patrick’s Day

Here is another fantastic free Saint Patrick’s day activity: build your own Leprechaun!! All you need to do is cut out the parts (as you can see from the photo above you don’t need to be super precise about it, especially around details like the fingers!) and fasten the different parts with metallic brads. I was lucky to have some that actually look like buttons which I think adds a lot to the look, but any kind of metallic fastener will work, and voila’ you have your own dancing Leprechaun!! I have, as usual, created both a black and white version and a color version, in case any of you want to color your own or don’t have a color printer available. Enjoy, and don’t forget to send me pictures of your projects! I love receiving those!!

(Just right click on the images to print on letter paper. If you can print on cardstock even better, but paper works out too!)

Free Printable Valentine’s Day Cards

Free Printable Valentine’s Day Cards

With Valentine’s day coming soon you might, like me, find yourself scrambling to get about 30 cards with candy ready for your kids to share with their classmates, and if you have more than one kid in elementary school it could easily be that your number is more like 60 or 90 cards! Yikes!

Here is an adorable set that you can easily print at home! I recommend using cardstock so it is nice and thick and then cut it up and add a lollipop and voila! All done!

Dress Up a Chicken ! – Cut and Paste Activity

New Year, new free printable activity!

As many of you know, I am an illustrator and lately I have been working on some chicken characters to add to my portfolio. My favorite has probably been this hipster rooster ( A roopster?) but if you are curious to see more then feel free to visit my portfolio website at www.gabriellavagnoli.com.

As I was sketching a bunch of different versions of this character I thought it would be fun to create an activity in which you can dress up your own rooster, similar to those paper dolls in which you have to cut up and dress up, but more fun because …well… you are dressing a chicken of course!

So, here it is in all its glory! The picture below is only a preview. To download the printable pdf click here: (there is also a black and white version for those, like me, who don’t have a color printer or just like to color their own).

Free Printable Kids Activity: Make a Snowman

Free Printable Kids Activity: Make a Snowman

Finally a new free printable kids’ activity!! Winter is still long, at least here in the Midwest, but I have to say we are not getting that much snow this year! What is the fun of winter without snow right?

So for all of you who don’t have the chance to build a real one, either because you are lucky enough to live in a warmer climate or because like me are having cold winter with no snow, why not build a paper snowman instead?

I created two free printable templates to use at home or in your classroom: the body of the snowman and the pieces. Of course you can also have the kids create the body out of construction paper or other supports, just make sure to kind of match the size of the pieces.

As usual, all you need is a printer, scissors and glue! Have fun!! If you have pictures of your completed works, please leave some in the comments, I would LOVE to see them!

American Paper Town

American Paper Town

From the point of view of someone from Europe, American houses look a lot like doll houses, and everything seems to come out of a movie at first. I find the architectural styles of older American towns fascinating and beautiful and this interest is what inspired me in this project. I designed 7 houses in 7 different styles: Italianate, Tudor revival, Greek revival, Craftsman, Victorian, Colonial and Log Cabin. I looked at pictures of real houses for inspiration although these are not exactly perfect copies in most cases. I also decided to draw four classic cars, although they are not all American in this case: I couldn’t help but add a VW Beetle and a Fiat 500!

You can color them or not, and you can print them on cardstock, cut them out and create your own little town. I think they would be cute even just as wall decorations. Click on the image to get the hi-resolution printable version.
